The South Lakes High School (SLHS) Athletic Boosters are proud to announce the availability of four prestigious scholarships for the graduating class of 2025. Dedicated to recognizing student-athletes who embody leadership, teamwork, and athletic excellence, these scholarships will provide valuable financial support to recipients as they continue their academic and athletic pursuits at the collegiate level.
About the Scholarships
For 2025, the SLHS Boosters will offer four Seahawk Embodiment Scholarships, each valued at $1,500:
- Two Female Athletic Leadership Seahawk Embodiment Scholarships
- Two Male Athletic Leadership Seahawk Embodiment Scholarships
These scholarships are specifically designed to honor SLHS seniors who have demonstrated remarkable leadership qualities, fostered team spirit, and contributed significantly to their athletic teams, including roles such as team managers. Importantly, students and their families do not need to be members of the SLHS Booster Club to be eligible.
Application Process
To apply, students must submit:
- A completed cover sheet with personal details and college information.
- A 450-word essay describing what team play and leadership mean to them, highlighting personal contributions to team success and leadership qualities exhibited throughout their high school athletic career.
Applications must be submitted via email to [email protected] no later than Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 11:59 PM. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Coaches will then provide recommendations based on criteria including leadership, teamwork, and contributions to team success, as well as academic achievements and athletic accomplishments.
The selected scholarship recipients will be announced during The Lakes Spring Ceremony in June 2025.
Eligibility & Detailed Criteria
- Must be a graduating senior at SLHS, attending for at least two years.
- Demonstrates leadership and positive team influence.
- Has received at least one Varsity Letter.
