Get ready for the return of Late Nite at the Byrd! This exciting event to celebrate the Boys and Girls basketball programs, hosted by the South Lakes Athletic Leadership class, is happening on Thursday, Nov. 23 at 8 pm at South Lakes High School.

Join the South Lakes community for an action-packed evening featuring:

• 3-Point Contest
• Dunk Contest
• Dance Team Performance
• Raffle Prizes
• Fun Contests with Fans

It’s a perfect opportunity to meet the teams, get autographs, and take photos with the players!

Event Details:

• Date: Thursday, Nov. 23
• Time: 8 pm
• Location: Wendell G. Byrd Gymnasium (enter at Door 4)
• Admission: Free, with an optional donation to support the South Lakes Athletic Leadership class.
• Note: Every middle school and elementary school child must be accompanied by an adult.

The event will end by 9:30 pm. The Boosters will have concessions and the gear store open in the gym lobby!

It’s time to show your Seahawk pride! Oct 16th, South Lakes High School is hosting the District Semifinals for Varsity Competition Cheer. Our talented athletes have been training hard, and now they need your support as they take on multiple schools in a thrilling competition. This is your chance to cheer on our incredible team and witness the amazing energy, teamwork, and spirit of competition cheer at its finest.

At the Boosters our goal is to provide financial support to ALL athletes and teams at SLHS.  But we need some BIG help.   

That is where you come in.

As a parent of a SLHS athlete you have information about your child’s sport that we don’t have access to when it comes to the funding needs of individual sports. Our Coaches and Athletics Office are super busy and sometimes things fall through the cracks so we need YOUR help.

We need a parent liaison to come to our meetings for EVERY sport so that we can hear the needs of all our student athletes.  

In the last meeting we had reps from volleyball, softball, dance, cheer, football, lacrosse and basketball.  That is great, but we want everyone to be represented at the table.

What does a Team Liaison Do?

Well it is pretty easy. Talk to your coach before our monthly meeting, find out if they need anything, come to the meeting and and let us know the need, then help us see if we can find a solution.  

The thing is, you probably already know what is needed by your athlete’s team, so be a team liaison and come share it with us.

PSSST –  the meetings are only once a month and usually no longer than 90 minutes long.
